Apple is rumored to be working on giving iPhone users more control over the layout of apps on the home screen. With iOS 18, users should have the ability to customize the location of apps and leave empty space between them, a feature that is currently not available.

According to a report by MacRumors citing insiders, iPhone users will soon be able to arrange app icons on the home screen more flexibly with the upcoming iOS 18 update. This will include the ability to create rows or columns of empty spaces between the app icons, as opposed to the current automatic placement in the next available spot.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman recently reported that the iPhone's home screen will be more customizable starting from iOS 18. While users can currently use external apps to create empty spaces between icons by placing invisible app icons, the official function is expected to be integrated in the upcoming update.

Apple is likely to announce the iOS 18 upgrade at WWDC in June, with the official release aligning with the launch of the iPhone 16 series in September. In addition to the app customization feature, Apple is also rumored to be introducing AI features to the iPhone.
