Apple is set to shake up its tablet lineup next year with the release of two sizes of the iPad Air, as reported by financial news agency Bloomberg. These new tablets will be unveiled alongside the highly anticipated iPad Pro models featuring OLED screens. Rumors of this development have been swirling around for some time.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the larger iPad Air with a 12.9" screen aims to cater to consumers who desire a larger display without the premium price tag associated with the iPad Pro. Gurman, known for his accurate insights into Apple's upcoming products, notes that this move mirrors Apple's strategy of releasing a MacBook Air with a larger screen earlier this year.

The iPad Air occupies the middle ground in Apple's tablet range, flanked by the iPad mini, which is also rumored to receive a new version towards the end of next year. On the other end of the spectrum are the iPad Pros, the premium models set to undergo significant updates in March next year. These changes mark the most significant overhaul since 2018. Meanwhile, the entry-level iPad will see a new iteration towards the end of next year, although Apple has remained tight-lipped about its plans for upcoming models. Historically, Apple has favored March as the month for iPad launches.
