Xiaomi has unveiled a new Aqara wall socket that comes with support for Zigbee and Matter, among other features. Designed for the European market, this socket has a face size of 55x55mm and can also measure electricity consumption.

Marketted as the Wall Outlet H2 EU by home automation manufacturer Aqara, this wall socket is compatible with European electrical appliances. Users have the option to integrate it into home automation systems using Zigbee 3.0 or Matter protocols. The socket comes with a 55x55mm cover plate and is said to be compatible with popular brands like Schneider Merten and Atlas.

The Wall Outlet H2 offers a range of features for controlling connected devices. For instance, users can program the socket to automatically shut off when a specific energy consumption level is reached, ranging between 100 and 3840 watts. There is also an auto-off function that cuts power supply if energy usage drops below 2W for a set period, particularly useful for devices left charging overnight.

In addition, the socket incorporates a memory module that retains the status of a device in case of power failures. An LED indicator on the front panel can be customized to display different status information.

Priced at 40 euros, the Wall Outlet H2 will be released on May 30. While availability in the Netherlands is uncertain, the device can be purchased through Amazon Germany, which ships to the Netherlands.
