Google is reportedly incorporating its Gemini AI into the Android Search app. The functionality appears to mirror that of the iOS version of the app. The timeline for when Gemini will be rolled out to Android users remains unclear.

A Twitter user AssembleDebug spotted the feature in the source code of the Search app. In a brief video, they demonstrate that Gemini can be activated through a button on the search bar, similar to the iOS iteration of the Google Search app.

While Google's search app on Android currently lacks this feature, there is a standalone Gemini app available. This app allows users to swap out Google Assistant for the Gemini bot as the default assistant.
