Wētā Workshop and Private Division have unveiled the very first sneak peek at the highly anticipated game Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game. Described as a 'Hobbit Life Simulator,' this unique game is set to launch in the latter part of 2024 for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series Shire, inviting players to immerse themselves in the world of The Lord of the Rings.

From the teaser trailer below and the accompanying press release, it's revealed that players will be able to live out their days in the quaint village of Bywater, where they can customize their very own Hobbit house, cook delicious meals, explore the surrounding nature, and tend to their gardens. Interestingly, the game will feature changing seasons that impact the available activities, adding an element of realism to the gameplay. Players will also have the opportunity to form relationships with other Hobbits.

Notably, Wētā Workshop, known for their work on The Lord of the Rings films, is spearheading the game development through their newly established Wētā Workshop Game Studio.
