Dr. Ana Sanchez of Community Hospice & Palliative Care Recognized with National Award

The rigorous fellowship process, which began over a year ago, required a significant time commitment from applicants to complete a comprehensive educational curriculum. Dr. Sanchez's dedication to her profession and commitment to patient care have been evident throughout her nearly 12-year career at Community Hospice & Palliative Care.

Starting as Chief Medical Director, she was later promoted to Chief Medical Officer in 2021. As a staunch patient advocate, Dr. Sanchez has focused on providing palliative care for individuals with advanced illnesses such as cancer, COPD, and congestive heart failure, as well as compassionate hospice care for those with limited life expectancies.

The Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine created the Fellowship program to address the growing need for palliative care resources to support the aging population in the United States.
