Disappointed Democrats Urge Joe Not to Run with D.C. Billboards

A new campaign called "Don't Run Joe" has launched a large billboard in front of the White House and the Capitol urging President Biden not to seek re-election. The campaign, which can be supported by signing a petition on their website, aims to send a message to Biden and his administration. The humorous image of Biden napping while his advisors look on in confusion and frustration is both funny and poignant.

The rolling billboard has been seen in various locations around Washington D.C., including iconic landmarks like the White House, the Capitol, the Washington Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial.

The "Don't Run Joe" campaign is the brainchild of RootsAction, a progressive organization founded by Norman Solomon and Jeff Cohen. Their website criticizes President Biden for his lack of boldness and inspiring leadership, stating that his chances of winning re-election are slim.

The organization is dedicated to galvanizing people for economic fairness, equal rights, civil liberties, environmental protection, and defunding endless wars, regardless of which party is in power in Washington D.C. While the message to Biden is clear, the organization's merchandise promoting socialism may not sit well with everyone. T

he campaign offers items like t-shirts, mugs, pillows, bags, and face masks with messages warning against the dangers of democratic socialism leading to communism and totalitarianism. Despite the political nature of the campaign, the humor and satire in the message are evident. The idea of inviting Solomon and Cohen to Bernie Sanders' BBQ and asking Sanders to sign a copy of his book about anger towards capitalism adds a light-hearted touch to the serious political message.
