Deezer Free, the free version of the music service, will cease to be available in the Netherlands from April 18, 2024. A number of tweakers have forwarded an email to Tweakers in which Deezer announces this upcoming change.

Users will now have the option to subscribe to a paid plan. In the email, Deezer mentions that Free will be discontinued in the user's country, specifically the Netherlands, starting from the mentioned date. On Reddit, a user from Norway has also shared a screenshot of the same email. The platform informs users that the Premium subscription will still be available.

Deezer Free is a complimentary version of the music platform where users hear advertisements and have limited control over the music and podcasts they listen to, such as being restricted to shuffle mode for music playback. With a paid subscription, customers can also enjoy the ability to download music. Deezer Free has previously been discontinued in various other countries.
